German Defense Minister vows to ship tanks to Kiev by end of March — web portal

BERLIN, January 26. /TASS/. German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said that Leopard 2 tanks promised by Germany to Ukraine will be delivered before "the end of March."

Tanks will be shipped "before the end of the first quarter," the Focus Online web portal quoted him as saying on Thursday. Pistorius added that Kiev would receive military equipment "in due time."

On Wednesday, the German government confirmed that it would send 14 Leopard 2 tanks from the stockpile of Germany’s military to Ukraine and issue permits to other countries for their re-export. On the same day, the defense ministries of Norway and Slovakia announced their plans to give tanks to Kiev. Earlier, the authorities of the UK, Poland and France said that they would send their tanks to Ukraine.
